Electronics Engineer

Contract Term:

Working as part of the engineering team you will be responsible for designing motor controllers and electronic control units for the company’s products. This will involve designing electronic circuits from scratch using the Altium toolset.

This is not a 100% desk based role as you will be involved in building and testing prototype units in the workshop and also out in the field. You will also be involved in ongoing product development, testing, fault finding and debugging.

Embedded Software/Firmware Engineer

Finance Manager

As a result of continued growth, our client is actively hiring for an experienced Finance Manager. This position is urgent and we require the successful candidate to start immediately.

Reporting to the Finance and Operations Director your duties will include the following:
·         Full control of purchase and sales ledgers including credit control.
·         Preparing periodic financial statements, including profit and loss accounts, budgets, cash flows, variance analysis and commentaries.
·         Assist the FD in presenting reports to senior executives, stakeholders, and board members.
·         Monthly payroll processing for all employees and assisting with Year end payroll submissions – P60’s, P11D’s etc.
·         Process PAYE/NI, VAT, EC Sales lists and Intrastat returns and deal with all correspondence with HMRC.
·         Assist with the management of the company’s Pension scheme.
·         Monthly reconciliations of the bank, HP, debtors and creditors; wages control accounts.
·         Maintenance of monthly fixed asset registers.
·         Reconciliation of inter-group balances.
·         Assist in the introduction of a new MRP system, and consistent monitoring and testing to ensure accuracy.
·         Assist with the production of project costing reports and analysing R&D expenditure ensuring costs are allocated to correct project.
·         Managing the capitalisation of intangible FA (R&D) and assisting with the submission of R&D tax credits to HMRC.
·         Monitor bank accounts daily and when necessary updating the Cash flow.
·         Management of the companies CID facility, including reporting to the bank & managing audits.
·         Ensure that all financial transactions are properly recorded, filed and reported.
·         Prepare various weekly and monthly financial reports & collate information from sales department to report accurate upcoming sales forecasts.
·         Working with all departments and the management team to help make financial decisions recommending ways of cutting costs.
·         Making sure spending is in line with budgets and understanding/reporting on variances.
·         Assisting with stock control.
·         Oversee purchasing department and assist with material planning to ensure stock value is at a minimum but production deadlines are met.
·         Assist with the management of grant funded projects and preparing data for periodic audits.
·         Monitoring and evaluating financial information systems and suggesting improvements where needed.
·         Motivate and lead finance team members by clarifying roles and providing helpful feedback.
·         Collaborate with external auditing services to ensure proper compliance with all regulations.

Skills and qualifications

·         Sound understanding of sage line 50/200.

Finance Controller

Our client is looking for an experienced Financial Controller. You will be responsible for the efforts and results of the financial department and will involve reporting to the Finance and Operations Director in regards to all financial and accounting activities and overseeing financial department staff in day-to-day operations.

·         Oversee all company accounts, banking arrangements, HMRC compliance and liaising with external advisors.
·         Create reports (monthly and ad-hoc) to identify results, trends, and financial forecasts.
·         Manage cash flow by tracking transactions and regularly reviewing internal reports.
·         Supervise and manage financial department staff, including Finance Manager and financial assistants.
·         Motivate and lead finance team members by clarifying roles and providing helpful feedback.
·         Suggest updates and improvements for accounting systems and other business information systems.

Mechanical Engineer

Our client is looking for an experienced Mechanical Engineer. The aim is to develop a waste heat recovery system designed to deliver reduced emissions and fuel efficiency savings of at least 8% across all types of ship. Working as part of the engineering team you will be working full time on this.

Essential skills and experience:

2D AutoCad and 3D Inventor design capability.  Design for fabrication and machining.  Thermodynamics/theros-fluid calculations.  Writing of test reports.  A sound knowledge of electrical motors, pipework and valves.

Desirable skills and experience:

Experience of working within the marine industry.  Understanding of marine standards.

Responsibilities on the project:

P&ID or ORC connection to engine/vessel.  3D models.  Pipework, valves ORC skid in vessel.  Test rig for generator (dyno).  Test rig for ORC full load test.  Assisting in development of electric motors/pumps.  Detail drawings of components.  Verification of compliance with class.  Reviewing designs.  Assisting in testing activities, producing reports.  Assisting in site installation activities, producing survey, commissioning and testing reports.

Qualifictions: HNC/BEng (Hons) in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
